If this list were bracketed, I would take Rooster Cogburn as the overall #1 seed.
You pretty much just dictated the next six months of this blog. I'd say 'George Washington McLintock' is in for high seed as well.
And, yes, I did have a reason for looking these up. And, no, that reason is not that I like John Wayne. I know nothing about him other than that he played characters with awesome names.
the searchers is an unbelievable film...just fucking awesome. so morally ambiguous and intense.
